Hwang Jung-eum

Hwang Jung-eum is a South Korean actress and former member of the girl group Sugar, born on December 25, 1984, in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. She entered the entertainment industry as a singer, debuting with Sugar in 2002. However, her passion for acting led her to leave the group in late 2004 to pursue a career in television and film. Hwang gained significant attention after her appearance on the reality show "We Got Married" in 2009, followed by her breakout role in the sitcom "High Kick Through the Roof." This success paved the way for her leading roles in various popular dramas, including "Listen to My Heart" (2011), "Secret Love" (2013), and the critically acclaimed "Kill Me, Heal Me" (2015). Her versatility as an actress has allowed her to shine in both comedic and dramatic roles, making her a beloved figure in the South Korean entertainment industry. More recently, Hwang has starred in "Mystic Pop-up Bar" (2020) and is set to appear in "The Escape of the Seven" (2023–2024).
