Jo Yu-ri, born on October 22, 2001, in Busan, South Korea, is a multifaceted singer and actress. She began her artistic journey in middle school, engaging in choir activities that ignited her passion for music. While in high school, she also explored her interest in acting through the drama club. Jo first gained public attention by participating in Mnet's reality show Idol School in 2017, though she finished in 15th place. Her breakthrough came in 2018 when she competed in Produce 48, securing third place and subsequently debuting as the main vocalist of the girl group IZ*ONE. Debuting on October 29, 2018, with the album "Color*Iz," Jo Yu-ri contributed to the group's success until their disbandment on April 29, 2021. Afterward, she launched her solo career, releasing her first single album, Glassy, in October 2021, which earned her multiple nominations for Rookie of the Year at major music awards. Transitioning into acting, Jo made her debut in the web series Mimicus in 2022 and received acclaim for her role as Kim Jun-hee (Player 222) in the upcoming second season of Netflix's Squid Game, set to release in 2024.
