Lee Soon-jae is a celebrated South Korean actor, recognized for his extensive contributions to film and television over a career that spans more than six decades. Born in what is now North Korea during the Japanese occupation, he moved to Seoul at the young age of four. Lee made his acting debut in 1956 with the play "Beyond the Horizon," and quickly transitioned to television, becoming a prominent figure in the industry. In 1961, he appeared in KBS's inaugural drama, "Should I Become a Human Too," marking the beginning of a prolific television career. He joined TBC shortly after its establishment in 1964, where he worked as a voice actor for radio dramas as well as a television talent. Throughout his career, Lee Soon-jae received numerous accolades, including the prestigious second-class Eungwan Order of Cultural Merit, recognizing his significant impact on South Korean culture and entertainment. His legacy continues to influence aspiring actors in the industry.
