Sooyoung Choi

Choi Soo-young, known mononymously as Sooyoung, is a prominent South Korean singer and actress born on February 10, 1990. She began her musical journey with the Korean-Japanese girl group Route 0, which was active from 2002 to 2003. After returning to South Korea, she rose to fame as a member of the iconic girl group Girls' Generation, which debuted in 2007 and achieved immense success, becoming one of the best-selling artists in the country and gaining international recognition.

In addition to her music career, Sooyoung has made her mark in the acting world with roles in various television dramas. Her notable works include The 3rd Hospital (2012), Dating Agency: Cyrano (2013), My Spring Days (2014), Squad 38 (2016), and Man in the Kitchen (2017-2018). More recently, she has appeared in Tell Me What You Saw (2020), Run On (2021), So I Married the Anti-fan (2021), If You Wish Upon Me (2022), Not Others (2023), and is set to star in upcoming projects like Second Shot at Love (2025) and I Dol I (2026).

In October 2017, Sooyoung announced her departure from SM Entertainment while continuing her role in Girls' Generation. She later joined Echo Global Group, releasing her first solo single "Winter Breath" in 2018. Following this, she signed with Saram Entertainment in 2019 and is expected to make her solo debut in Japan in October 2024 with the single "Unstoppable."
