You Chea-myung

You Chea-myung, born on June 3, 1973, is a distinguished South Korean actor known for his compelling performances in television dramas. He gained widespread recognition for his roles in popular series such as "Reply 1988" (2015), "Stranger" (2017), and "Life" (2018). His talent was acknowledged when he received the Best Supporting Actor award at the 6th APAN Star Awards. Before making a mark in television, You Chea-myung honed his craft on the stage. He began his acting career in 1997 with the theater company "Yeollin Mudae" and spent approximately 15 years performing in Busan's vibrant theater scene. His dedication to the arts extended beyond acting, as he played a pivotal role in saving the Yeollin Small Theater from closure. In 2004, he co-founded the theater company "Actors, Audience, and Space" (Baegwan-gong), contributing to the cultural landscape of South Korean theater. His noteworthy ability to portray dual roles in the play "Wind" caught the attention of director Shin Won-ho, leading to his casting in "Reply 1988."
