Synopsis

A concise overview of the premise, tone, and dramatic setup.

In the action-packed historical drama Chuno, set during the Joseon Dynasty, Dae-gil leads a group of slave hunters tasked with capturing a runaway slave named Tae-ha, who was once a formidable warrior. The narrative delves into themes of revenge and the complexities of human nature against the backdrop of the oppressive slave system.

Dae-gil, originally a nobleman, finds his life irrevocably changed when he falls in love with a servant named Eon-nyeon. Tragedy strikes when Eon-nyeon and her brother murder Dae-gil's family, prompting him to dedicate himself to tracking down escaped slaves as a means of seeking vengeance. The drama intricately weaves together the characters' emotional struggles and conflicts, particularly focusing on Dae-gil's rivalry with Tae-ha, the best swordsman of Joseon, and another slave hunter, Hwang Cheol-woong.
