Kim Soo-hyun (Hangul: 김수현), born on February 16, 1988, is one of the highest-paid actors in South Korea. His accolades include four Baeksang Arts Awards, two Grand Bell Awards, and one Blue Dragon Film Award. He has appeared in the Forbes Korea Power Celebrity 40 list from 2012 to 2016 and in 2021, and he was named Gallup Korea's Television Actor of the Year in 2014. Additionally, he was featured in Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia list in 2016. Kim took acting classes in school on his mother's recommendation to help overcome his introverted nature. He made his television debut in 2007 with the family sitcom Kimchi Cheese Smile and gained prominence with leading roles in the dramas Dream High (2011) and Moon Embracing the Sun (2012), the latter earning him the Baeksang Arts Award for Best Actor in Television. Rising to fame as a Hallyu star, he achieved further success with the fantasy rom-com My Love from the Star (2013) and the variety-drama The Producers (2015), winning three Daesangs (Grand Prizes).
