대전 시민 천문대 주차장

The Daejeon Citizen Observatory Parking Lot, located at 213-48 Gwahak-ro, Yuseong District, Daejeon, is famously recognized as the backdrop for a significant fight scene in the K-drama *Weak Hero Class 1*. While the drama utilized its exterior for intense action, the location itself offers a contrasting experience as a public observatory dedicated to celestial exploration.

Beyond its on-screen drama, the observatory is a popular destination for families and space enthusiasts. Visitors consistently praise its free admission and engaging activities, particularly for children, making it an ideal spot for an educational and entertaining outing. Although planet viewing can be weather-dependent, the observatory offers guided tours, planetarium screenings every hour, and a welcoming atmosphere, with staff noted for their kindness and excellent explanations.

As Korea's first public observatory, it holds a special place for both locals and travelers. Whether you're a fan of *Weak Hero Class 1* looking to revisit a memorable filming spot or simply curious about the cosmos, the Daejeon Citizen Observatory provides a unique blend of drama history and astronomical wonder, promising an enjoyable and informative visit.

If you like space, I recommend stopping by and taking a look. There are activities available for children, so many families visit. It takes about 30 minutes to experience and look around.

Unfortunately, due to the snow, the domes of the Main Observation Hall and the Auxiliary Observation Hall could not be opened, so I was unable to observe the planets. However, I had booked a guided tour via Naver Reservations, and everyone was incredibly kind and gave excellent explanations! I think children would enjoy it if you took them there. A group of children visited right after I went. I heard it is the first observatory opened to the public, so I recommend it to travelers and locals who haven't been there yet. I would love to visit again on a nice day. Oh, and there is a screening at the planetarium every hour on the hour, so I recommend checking that out as well!

Admission to the city observatory is free. It's best to choose a clear day. For group tours, if you call, they offer transportation. Since we have a large group of seniors, they offered to send a van, but since they had enough vehicles, we drove there ourselves. I've visited several times on my own, and parking isn't available in the observatory's parking lot. You have to park a little ways away, in the parking lot to the left of the observatory, and then walk. Groups and seniors can open the parking barriers to allow for intermittent parking. Observatory tours require going up to the second floor. Check the planetarium show times in advance and definitely visit. The planetarium program changes frequently and presents a fascinating experience. You can lie back on your chair and watch a 3D projection on the semicircular ceiling, changing themes such as constellations and the universe. If you sit opposite the entrance to the planetarium, you'll have a perfect view of the subtitles. The second floor has a small exhibition hall and a shop, and on the third floor, you can observe the moon, Jupiter, and other planets with the help of staff in the main and auxiliary observation rooms.

Through the constellations and explanations provided by the observatory instructor, we were able to learn about things that we might have easily overlooked, but I wish there had been more explanations about the principles of telescopes. Reservations are required for Corona.
