Hwang Min-hyun, known mononymously as Minhyun, is a South Korean singer and actor, born on August 9, 1995. He made his debut as a member of the boy group NU'EST in March 2012, quickly establishing himself as the group's lead vocalist. In 2017, he gained widespread recognition by competing in the reality series Produce 101 Season 2, where he finished in ninth place and secured a spot in the temporary project group Wanna One. After Wanna One's activities concluded in January 2019, Minhyun returned to NU'EST, contributing to the group until its disbandment in 2022. Following this, he transitioned to a solo career, showcasing his versatility as both a musician and an actor. He has appeared in various productions, including the musical Marie Antoinette in 2019 and the drama Live On in 2020. More recently, he starred in the dramas Alchemy of Souls and Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow in 2022. In February 2023, Minhyun released his first solo album, truth or lie, marking a significant milestone in his career. He is set to begin his mandatory military service in March 2024.
