Huh began his acting career in 1985 with a role in the film "Cheong Blue Sketch," directed by Lee Kyu-hyung, while he was a sophomore in college studying dance. He is known for his tough appearance, often portraying characters such as delinquents and boxers. Over the years, Huh has become a versatile character actor in both film and television, earning acclaim for his roles, including a notable performance in the film "Silmido" (2003), for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the Grand Bell Awards. Huh maintains close ties with fellow actors Choi Min-soo and Dokgo Young-jae, reflecting a long-standing friendship between their families.
