Synopsis

A concise overview of the premise, tone, and dramatic setup.

Set in Korea's medieval Joseon dynasty, "Kingdom" unfolds in a time plagued by corruption and famine. A mysterious rumor of the king’s death coincides with the spread of a bizarre plague that makes the infected immune to death yet ravenous for flesh. As chaos ensues, the crown prince, a victim of conspiracy, embarks on a perilous journey to uncover the sinister plot and save his people.

This Netflix original series has garnered global attention for its unique blend of historical drama and zombie thriller, paving the way for the popularity of Korean content worldwide. The narrative follows the crown prince Lee Chang as he confronts both the source of the plague and the political machinations that threaten his reign, alongside the skilled physician Seo Bi, who aids him in unraveling the mystery behind the undead.

This restaurant is known for its warm noodle soup, especially popular during cold weather. The dish is made with a rich and nutty broth.

The weather is so cold that I keep craving warm soup dishes... haha. We came down from the glamping site and went to a nearby kalguksu restaurant. The place was very spacious and clean! We ordered two servings of perilla seed kalguksu. The food came out quite quickly! The broth was thick and savory, filled with perilla seed powder.
